Technology has become woven into every part of modern life. From communication to careers, access to digital tools is essential. Yet, many children in underserved communities still do not have basic exposure to computers or digital literacy skills. This is why the first major initiative of the Uthman and Aisha Foundation focuses on promoting digital literacy.
We believe that digital empowerment is not a luxury — it is a necessary foundation for learning in today’s world. By providing students with access to computers and training, we are giving them the tools to understand the digital world around them. These skills go beyond simply using devices; they help children learn more efficiently, express creativity, gain information, and build confidence in navigating technology-driven environments.
This initiative is part of our broader vision to make learning accessible to every child. Introducing digital literacy at an early stage helps bridge the gap between children who have opportunities and those who have none. When children gain access to technology, their ability to learn expands, their curiosity grows, and their future possibilities multiply.
Promoting digital literacy is the first step — a foundation upon which we will continue to build. As our programs grow, so will the digital skills of the children we support. We are committed to ensuring that access to technology becomes a reality for children who need it most.
